Elizabeth Furnace: Drive west on I-66. Take Exit 6 (six miles this side of the I-81 junction). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left. Turn right on Rt 55; go through Buckton. At Waterlick take a left on Rt 678. After entering George Washington Nat'l Forest, group campground will be on the left, shortly after the Signal Knob parking lot.
Broad Creek Scout Reservation (Camp Spencer): Travel north on I-95 through Baltimore. Stay on I-95; take Exit 80, Rt 543. Turn left on Rt 543 toward Churchville. Go to stop light and turn right on to Rt 136 North. Travel 14 miles north on Rt 136. In the town of Dublin, continue on Rt 136 (also called Whiteford Rd). Turn right on to Peach Orchard Rd. Look for Camp Spencer to the right of the road. The camp headquarters is at Camp Saffran. This can be reached by staying on Peach Orchard Road past Camp Spencer. You'll come to a junction with Susquehanna Hall Rd. Take a right. After a short drive the entrance to Camp Saffran will be on your right.
Cunningham's Vineyard: West on I-66 to exit 27 (the second Marshall exit). Turn right at the stop sign at the top of the exit ramp. At the T-junction (about 100 yards down) take a left onto Rt F185 West (also called Grove Lane, which runs parallel to I-66). Drive 2.4 miles, then turn left onto Ashville Road. You will go over I-66. Proceed approx 0.6 miles until you reach a T-Junction. Turn right onto Cobbler Mt Road. The road will take an immediate sharp left. Drive approx 0.6 miles where you will reach the vineyard at the junction of Rolling Hills Road. The address is 3841 Cobbler Mt Rd -- number is on the mailbox (right side of the road). The Rolling Hills Road street sign is on the left side of the road. Turn right onto the access road. Approx 0.1 miles, turn right into the vineyard. There is a gate at this point. Need to make sure it's closed behind you after you drive through. After driving another 0.1 miles you will see the farmhouse and small workhouse on the right. Just past the small workhouse there's a fork in the road. Take the right fork. At this point the small workhouse will be on your right, the garage/barn will be on your left and the pond will be in front of you. About 100 yards down the road splits again -- drive to the left between the two fences to the campsite. For those with a GPS, the approx coordinates are 38° 53.016N; 77° 55.481W.
Marriott Ranch: Drive west on I-66. Take Exit 27 (the second Marshall exit). Turn left at the stop sign (road crosses I-66). After crossing I-66 take the first right onto Rt 647. Go 4 miles and turn right on Rt 635 and drive 7.6 miles to the entrance of Marriott Ranch (on your left). To reach the campsite, take the entrance road all the way to the end. The ranch office will be on your left. Bear to the left between the barn and house and drive down the dirt road eventually bearing to the right down the hill to the banks of the river.
Dennis Farm: From the church take Rt 7 west to Leesburg. At Leesburg turn right on to Rt 15 North. Just past the outlet mall on your right, drive past Ft Evans Road on your right, then turn RIGHT at the next intersection on to Edwards Ferry Road. Drive approx 0.8 miles. Turn LEFT on to the farm's driveway; Street numbers (on mailboxes) are 42760 and 42754. The Dennis's House is approx 1/3 mile down, at the end of the driveway (it's a long, unpaved driveway). Campsite is down the trail to the left of the house.
