Scouting on the Ellipse

1 May 2004

This year's "Scouting on the Mall" was moved to the Ellipse because of the construction around the Washington Monument, but the move had no effect on the enthusiasm of the Scouts who participated in a wide range of activities, demonstrations, and displays.  The opening ceremony featured the Navy Band and the Navy Drill Team put on a memorable mid-day performance.  Troop 1018's display featured the "floating flagpole" with our American Flag suspended in air, held up only by ropes.
