Another great Troop 1018 adventure. Our first stop of the day was Fort McHenry, birthplace of the "Star Spangled Banner". We toured the fort played a little football in the park, then it was on to the Baltimore Inner Harbor for our overnight campout on the USCGC Taney. The Taney is the last ship afloat that took part in the defense of Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec 1941. It was decommissioned in 1986 after a distinguished 50 year history serving our country. We toured the ship, ate dinner in the crew's mess, and slept in the forward crew quarters. The following morning, we were up early -- enjoyed a fine 1018-cooked breakfast and toured the submarine USS Torsk before returning to Dranesville.
