With a Civil War theme, this camporee had lots of activities and plenty of opportunities for learning about America's past. Troop 1018 went out early Saturday morning and was assigned to the "Southern" side for the weekend's activities. We learned about the life of a soldier during the war, learned a little bit about marching and drill, and participated in a mock skirmish to cap off the day's activities. Throughout the day we educated and entertained by a wonderful group of Civil War reenactors who gave us some great insights into the war and life in the 1860's.
