Powhatan District Spring Camporee

Claude Moore Scout Reservation, Ashburn, VA

15-17 May 2009

The theme for this year's District Spring Camporee was "Brownsea Island", recreating some of the games and activities that Baden-Powell used during his first Scout campout back in 1907.  Our Scouts enjoyed a day of interesting scoutcraft activities, great food (a hallmark of 1018), and fun.  We were ready to present our newest skit, "A Skit in Search of a Bailout" at the campfire when the skies opened up with a huge thunderstorm and the Camporee was suspended until the following morning.  Overall, our combined Midnight Wolf & Macho Monkey Patrol garnered a 3rd place finish overall in the camporee competition.
