The Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is nestled in the Kander River valley in the Swiss Alps, about 45 miles south of Bern. Founded in 1923, the KISC was the fulfillment of a dream by Lord Robert Baden-Powell, Scouting's founder, to have a "permanent mini-jamboree" for Scouts from around the world. From it's modest beginnings, KISC has continued to expand both in size and scope. During our stay Scouts from over 40 countries were at the centre and we enjoyed a wide range of activities from the simple (crate stacking) to "high adventure" (an overnight hike across the Kanderfirn Glacier).
So join our troop in a picture gallery of two wonderful weeks of high adventure in Switzerland.
