Day 2 of the "Great Mr. White Adventure" began at the Blumensalphütte where we spent the night with 110 other hikers in one of the largest huts in Switzerland. After breakfast we hiked down the "other" route to the Blumensalphütte to the Oeschinensee where many of us took "a swim in an Alpine lake" to fulfill one of the high adventure award requirements -- once again proving the obvious: glacier fed Alpine lakes are very, very cold. We met our guides Anneloes (from Holland) and Hannes (from Sweden) for the hike up to the Fründenhütte. Made it in plenty of time for dinner. The views from the hut are spectacular, to say the least. Went to sleep ready (well, sort of) for another great day of adventure.
