Troop History
Troop 1018 has a history of providing, in the words of Baden Powell, "Fun with a purpose," since the late 20th century. Our ties to the the community, scouting's roots and our members over the years run deep. We meet in the historic Dranesville United Methodist Church -- once used as a hospital in the US Civil War. A high percentage of our scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle -- Scouting's most coveted achievement. We have been led, over the years, by four dedicated Scoutmasters, Jack Robertson, Doug Donnell, David Hollender and Steve Jancich.
This section of the website offers information about the Troop's community and history. To learn more about our activities, or perhaps to re-live your own scouting adventures, check out one of our blogs, photo galleries or videos. Or, read our article on A History of Dranesville -- written by our own Doug Donnell. And don't forget to view our growing list of Eagle Scouts.
